Doc update

Well I did not like the drive there or back. My teeth really hurt and well I just did not like it and I told mommy and daddy all about it.

My first appointment was with Burnstein my neurologist.  Everything went pretty well. I got my official diagnosis of quad cerebral palsy and mixed tone cerebral palsy. I had to get an EEG done because he noticed something called clonic jerks and that could be a type of seizure so we are waiting for the EEG results. I did not like the electrodes and glue in my hair but after they put all the goo on my head I fell asleep on mommy lap.

Then we went to Dr. Tanaguchi my bone and muscle doctor. I got my braces re adjusted so I can not get my foot out. My hips are doing good so far. He brought up the idea of botox injections and  something called a phenol block. That is when they do injections into the nerve to block it's function so I can move easier. I would have to go under  anesthesia for that. But not right now it is just a thought that will happen in the near future.

Well that about sums it up. If anyone has questions feel fee to ask mommy and daddy.

Hey-

I'm sorry that you didn't have fun driving to the cities. I often feel that way when I am driving too! The sheets your mom and dad gave me at christmas gave me a good idea about your diagnosis, but the more the doctors know the better they can help you have a great life!

We will be home to visit over Easter and we will be staying at the Ramada. Maybe we can have a swimming party!

Christina,
You have come such a long way. Let me know if there is anything I can do to make the car rides better.
Lots of love,
Daddy

Well, it sounds like your days sure are full. I am happy that they have come to a bit of a conclusion about your diagnosis so that you can start preparing for the future and what to expect. I am confused about the Botox. I can't believe all of the different treatments out there. I am counting down the days until I can see you and hope you are not too scared of me when I come. I will be home April 3-15. I am looking forward to it. Love you!!!!!! -Carmen
