I am pleased to spend time with Christina this evening. It seems that I have been missing Christina more lately. Although it is sad for me, that is the way it is. After some suggestions from others I have begun looking for differences in Christina's behaviour. I did not know how to take that at the time. Now, still unsure how to feel about it, it has me more concerned about Christina.

Junior Fair

The Junior Fair was this weekend. Christina enjoyed the kid's tent and petting zoo. Christina did well waiting her turn in line for the games. We also went for a few wagon rides this weekend. Christina is a huge fan of the wagon, she tries extra hard to keep her head up.

With the warm weather it was a good time to go through the sprinkler. A nice way to cool off from the fair.

Christina and I also experimented with the swing. Daddy got some ideas from Peg and we tried them on Sunday.

Christina has been playing with flash cards and her switch for awhile. It has gone well, but Sunday she showed off. Christina displayed how smart she is and her four year old attitude. We had a blast. She couldn't keep a serious look for long and busted out laughing every time she hit the switch to tease me.

Today was a busy day. We started with a walk by the river. Christina picked flowers and held them until ST started. Christina had ST today, then we went home and Mary and Peg came over for a home visit. Christina was not happy, but showed them how well she eats lunch. Barb also came over today. Three appointments today; one for Christina, one for myself, and one for the two of us.

Peg brought us a wagon to try. It works great with Christina's seat2go. THANK YOU Peg. After the smiles today, I am on a mission to find a wagon that will fit her chair.

Christina even slept for nap today. A good sign it was a busy day.

Christina said "Yes" today. She said it clearly and unmistakably. Her yes was in reply to playing in the sprinkler with the gait trainer. A big favorite of the princess.

Watermelon Festival

Sunday Christina and I went to the Watermelon Festival. It was the first time either of us has gone. It is kinda of a flea market and we had fun looking around. Of course Christina ate lots of watermelon. We saw some friends there and had a nice visit too.

Saturday Christina and I enjoyed spending time in the water. Christina walked a lot and very well. After much walking we did lots of jumping and splashing. Christina needed a break, so did I, and then after drinks a short rest she wanted back in the water.

We had grandma over for dinner. Pam sent spaghetti over and it was delicious.

Christina is finding it humorous when she or myself loses an earring back.

Daddy's Log : 20100725

It is another Sunday and I find myself missing Christina more than usual. The house is a mess; dishes, laundry, vacumming, picking up. Nothing unusual; however, feels overwhelming.

Christina's reflux is continuing to act up. I am starting to shift from watchful to concerned. Angela has not heard from Dr. Aru, Christina's gastroenterologist.

I have also noticed that Christina's sensory triggers have not subsided even with the addition of brushing during the day. Brushing has helped in the past, but does not seem to be helping now. Perhaps it is helping and her sensors are that sensitive.

Again it was brought up to have Christina see a counselor. Angela stated she has not had luck finding a counselor. I will begin my search today. It was stated that Christina's different abilities make it difficult for her to communicate. Specifically not being able to draw and being non-verbal. Frustrating, Christina is one of the most communicable people I know. Who has trouble communicating? Sorry venting. I feel it is the adult's responsibility to listen and understand the child, not the child's responsibility to find a language the adult understands.

On a happy note, Christina and I enjoyed the weekend. I will post more detail on her blog, http://www.christinakademan.com.
